Visitors entering the building are immersed into a lively, modern space that brings 100 years of history to life. The exhibit celebrates the vision of founder, Nurse May Smith, to provide healthcare for all children, regardless of ability to pay. An interactive timeline chronicles the development of CMC Dallas from its early “Baby Camp” days to today’s academic medical center, the only one in Dallas-Fort Worth dedicated solely to the comprehensive care of children.
The high-tech, high-touch Donor Recognition Wall features layered panels of wood and etched glass, illustrative storybook-like graphics, color-changing LED lighting, and a large digital screen wall. Donor names float in playful bubbles as visitors pass or touch the screen.
