As one of the most rapidly growing communities in the greater Houston area, Katy’s outdated facilities required modernization and expansion. When master plan studies revealed the cost of various replacement scenarios, the client elected new construction with a prototype design that could be used in another location. In addition to cost effectiveness in design and construction, using a prototype establishes best practices for building materials and finishes.
The Phase 1 program established the public concourse; healing garden; surgery with five operating rooms; 17-room emergency department; OB program with 7 LDRs, 22 postpartum, four antepartum; 80 private medical/surgery beds; and 12-bed ICU.
- 307,000 GSF renovation
- 127 beds
With the use of a prototype design and the establishment of best practices for materials, construction for this facility was completed in under 30 months.Well-Being
