National Archives and Records Administration

We share NARA’s mission of ensuring the preservation of archival records and the built environment that inform the American Identity. From expansive presidential libraries and museums to optimally designed storage facilities carefully calibrated to house important documents, EYP helps NARA maintain facilities that safeguard the documents that continue to shape our nation’s history while enhancing the public’s learning experience.

About NARA

Founded in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt, the NARA is the nation’s main record-keeper responsible for safeguarding and preserving historical documents for future reference, research, and learning. Hundreds of millions of pages of government documents are produced each year, but the NARA only archives approximately 2-5% of documents based on their historical significance and continuing value. Records come in various formats and include historical maps, international treaties, photographs, videos, and handwritten correspondence, among other mediums.
