Brian Blicher PE
Senior Fire Protection Engineer
Childhood fascinations with Legos and Transformers foreshadowed a career in engineering. Today, consulting and design are my technically stimulating and creative outlets.
As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer licensed in five states, I help develop solutions to protect future leaders, innovators, public servants, and patients and caregivers for EYP’s higher education, science and technology, government, and healthcare sectors. Whether I’m working on new construction projects, modernizations of existing buildings, or infrastructure upgrades on historical sites, protecting people is my priority.
My areas of expertise include consulting for historic, ICC, NFPA, and government agency specific codes, developing life safety plans and reports, and designing and commissioning fire alarm and sprinkler systems. I conduct Statement of Conditions (SOC) surveys for healthcare facilities, fire safety evaluation system (FSES) assessments, and third-party reviews of design work, as well as evaluate engineering judgements (EJs) for firestop assemblies and prepare facility fire safety/emergency action plans.
With a passion for proactive problem-solving, I use lessons learned from a wide variety of projects, meticulous code research, and an amicable attitude to work with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities to recognize and resolve potential fire protection and life safety pitfalls before they endanger a project.
Let’s enjoy a smooth permitting process together.
