Graham Simm

Project Planner

Senior Associate

Working with the federal government on diplomatic, defense, and intelligence projects has been a privilege. The shared dedication, experiences, and mission of federal projects fuels my passion for creating secure, responsible, resilient, and symbolic buildings through the creative and integrated team design process.

Working on the master plan for The Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) at the Fort Pickett Army Base in Blackstone, Virginia, was my first exposure to the possibilities of combining government and private industry. And the complex FASTC training program, multi-user, multi-agency, 1,500-acre master plan project helped me understand the benefits of working with a united, diverse, and client-focused project team.

Today, serving as a project planner offers me the freedom and responsibility to perform multiple roles depending on the project delivery method, site location, client’s needs, and team. I have experience with domestic DoD projects, and I’ve worked closely with the U.S. State Department Bureau of Overseas Building Operations to design, renovate, and build embassy and diplomatic facilities in over 20 countries.
