Government Sector Leader

Karl is an industry leader who has dedicated his career to helping government clients better serve the public through their buildings. Through his work for such diverse organizations as the Architect of the Capitol, the General Services Administration, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, he has developed industry partnerships and collaborations resulting in buildings that contribute to the history, safety, efficiency and defense of the American public.

The preservation and modernization of federal facilities is a particular passion for Karl, who currently chairs the AIA Historic Resources Committee. He is committed to ensuring the future relevancy of historically significant spaces through respectful design interventions. As a Sector Leader, he recruits the best talent for his team to ensure EYP successfully delivers exceptional design projects.

US Consulate in Erbil, Iraq

Building Design + Construction recently examined the balance of government agencies’ needs vs. available capital provided at the federal, state, and local government levels. EYP Government Sector Leader Karl Stumpf, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, remains hopeful about government design opportunities, especially in terms of office projects that cost effectively maximize space utilization. The article also explored several federal building projects as signs of investment in our country’s security and global impact, including the EYP-designed U.S. Consulate in Erbil, Iraq, which, upon completion, will be the largest such facility in the world.
