Richard Clarke AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Senior Design Principal
I am motivated by change, creating a vision for a new place — forming new identity. How can form, light, material, and landscape enrich your environment? How can we focus the interplay of people, purpose, and space — sparking discovery, evoking inquiry, and promoting human connection? These inherently humanistic principles drive my designs and are reflected in my design process. I am committed to our collaboration and deep engagement, blending research, analysis, and creative iteration to connect people and enrich your mission.
I find it particularly rewarding to be a champion for personal and creative growth. In search of the best ideas, I initiated our collaborative, cross-discipline design charrettes and Peer Reviews. I also believe it’s important to lead by example by mentoring staff and colleagues. As an invited critic and lecturer at institutions such as Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia, I maintain an active connection to academia and future generations. And serving as a GSA Peer Reviewer, AIA Juror, and speaker on architecture, design, and community, I am able to share my expertise and contribute to the design profession.
