Measuring Up: Methods to Rise Up to Challenges, Needs of Urban Healthcare

The availability of healthcare in the United States, especially high-quality healthcare, is uneven. The best healthcare services tend to be found in urban centers, which also have the largest populations. Hospitals and medical centers in big cities, however, have little or no room to grow, and they can't demolish outdated facilities without first having opened a new one. In this article for Medical Design + Construction, David and Bhargav cite examples of how they have helped clients meet the challenges of: land restrictions;  measured growth; uneven distribution of Level 1 Trauma care; and meeting projected volumes.
