Virtual, 12-1:30 PM EST
April 24, 2024
In an evolving world where new societal and technological challenges continue to emerge, arts and humanities play a critical role in cultivating inventive spaces that provide a forum for creative exploration, bridging across disciplines and connecting to a larger community.
In this session, we will hear from the leaders of the major arts programs at Dartmouth College and NYU Tisch School of the Arts as they share recent projects on campus that prioritize the advancement and integration of the arts. With one campus starting construction of a renovation and addition to the Hopkins Center for the Arts, and the other the completion of the ground-up mixed-used Paulson Center, each will highlight a perspective on the challenges and opportunities of programming the arts to promote cross disciplinary integration with other university programs, and how the arts have and can enrich daily student life.
The last half of the session will more broadly focus on the resurgence of the modernist trend of building integrated arts facilities and the future of the arts in higher education, with an encouragement of open dialogue among all participants.
