Justin Shultz, Ph.D., BEMP

Building Performance Analyst


Justin has experience in building energy modeling, daylighting analyses, climate visualizations, CFD, renewable energy systems, and simulation of dynamic building envelopes. He earned his B.S. in Energy Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, and his Ph.D. in Architectural Sciences at the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. During his research at RPI, he helped to advance modeling techniques in architecture through a working collaboration with the Institute's Scientific Computational Research Center (SCOREC).  


The District of Columbia's Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is enacting new Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) to help DC become the healthiest, greenest, and most livable city in the country. More
