The People with Impact Speaker Series features experts, activists, designers, and business leaders who come to our office each month and share their stories, ideas, and how they are making a positive impact on their community.
About the Series
Each year, the DC office participates in AIA|DC's CANstruction, sponsored by the Capital Area Food Bank, Giant Food Stores, and the Washington Architectural Foundation. This past year, teams across DC, Virginia, and Maryland participated in the competition, donating approximately 82,000 cans to the Capital Area Food Bank, the region’s primary resource for healthy food for those facing daily hunger. Inspired by the 1980's theme, our design used 2,793 cans and 150 bags of jumbo marshmallows to create the popular childhood Care Bear toy.
